Lift Magazine is where it all began. In the late 1990’s a mom, Jackie Curl, whose son had a disability felt she wanted to do something to encourage other parents going through a disability life experience. Her answer was to create a newsletter that would go out to parents of disability. The UpLifter newsletter was filled with encouragement, ideas, and of course, prayers for families to read and share.

The quest to publish the newsletter became difficult when Jackie lost key volunteers to layout and design the periodical. It was at that time Jackie learned that a childhood friend and his wife had moved to the Orlando area to launch a ministry for families facing disabilities. Jim & Rhonette, founders of Eleos – The Care Network, Inc., were eager to assist in the development of the newsletter. A few months later, Jackie granted ownership of the little publication to Eleos and Lift Magazine was born.

Lift Magazine is a periodical that has a production target of every two months and is circulated into the homes and businesses of families with disabilities. This is a composite of inspirational articles and tidbits of information designed by people enduring adversity for families in like situation to strengthen, inspire, and elevate their lives. It is a merging of the spiritual, or faith life, with a practical, fresh approach to overcoming life's difficult and limiting moments.
